Adoption Baby Shower

I started out with the Stork adoption baby shower theme since my sister-in-law adopted her baby. So I made the baby airport cake to go along with that of the stork bringing her baby to her.

The cake was a 3-d stand up house (I bought the pan at Michael's). The storks were made out of tall lollipop sticks and I made the bodies out of royal icing and the head out of royal icing. The beak is a short piece of lollipop stick with royal icing over it. The hats are shaped out of fondant and the legs I used a round icing tip and ran a line straight down the lollipop stick. The runway is made out of fondant and I covered the house in fondant and then iced the roof with buttercream icing. The baby conveyer belt is fondant that I let dry for a few days to harden and then I put plastic dowels that I cut to length underneath to hold it up. You could go a little easier and find the Wilton Stork pan and you just do buttercream using the star technique.

Then we did the same thing with the decorations for the Stork adoption baby shower. Of course you have to put the lawn stake out so everyone knows where your baby shower is.

Then we put the stork on the door so everyone sees it as they come in to the adoption baby shower.

The napkins and cups have storks on them. I stuck with all blue since she adopted a boy and so you could go pink with everything for a girl.

I also made some cute cookies for a take home treat and put them in little bags in a basket on the table. The cookies were feet rattles and babies in a diaper.
